Great news for those excited about the upcoming expansion for Path of Exile 2. Players can access Return of the Ancients for free from May 29 to June 1. This means players can try out the new challenge league, Runes of Aldur, and even explore major endgame updates.
That's not all since there's also a limited-time promotion running from May 29 to June 12. During this period, the Early Access Supporter Pack is being offered at 50% off. The purchase comes with full access to the game as well as 150 points to spend in the in-game store.
Return of the Ancients
The expansion introduces players to the Runes of Aldur league. This one challenges them to complete eight challenges in-game and earn a piece of the Knight of Aldur Armor Set and a totem decoration for their Hideout. These microtransactions though are purely cosmetic and don't affect the character’s power in any way.
The expansion also includes a reshaped endgame experience, powerful new Uniques, expanded crafting systems, and a completely reimagined Atlas Tree. There are also two new Ascendancy classes added which are the Martial Artist and Spirit Walker. Other changes include improved campaign replayability, a new Build Planner, and numerous quality-of-life features to support every step of the journey.

Discord Quest
Aside from the in-game challenges, players can also earn a Discord Quest avatar decoration, which is the Runeseeker Avatar Decoration, by playing Path of Exile 2 for 15 minutes. Details include:
Players can accept the Discord Quest from May 29 to June 5.
- To participate, select "Accept Quest" on the left hand side (Under Shop).
- On mobile, tap the Quest bar to navigate to the Quest tab and accept it there.
- To track progress, players must be logged into the Discord desktop app.
