NCSOFT announced that the new expansion for Throne and Liberty is releasing on March 6. The upcoming free expansion is dubbed as "Wilds of Talandre" and is set to introduce a lot of new content.
The highlight is, of course, the new zone Talandre. There's a lot to discover in the next chapter of the story and along the way players get to experience new and diverse events and discover unexplored field dungeons. Once the new expansion goes live, the studio revealed that it's going to introduce new regional events, archbosses, field dungeons, and other surprises.
The Dungeons
The new expansion challenges players to take on new solo dungeons before they try out the more difficult content. They get to earn rewards when they defeat enemies and hurdle obstacles. Meanwhile, those who have mastered 2-Star Dungeons can test their skills with 3-Star Dungeons. The 3-Star Dungeons unlock when players hit level 55 and require a minimum combat power of 3,500. The 3-Star Dungeons are:
- Rancorwood
- Mansion of Tragedy
- Chapel of Madness
- Cruel Witch’s Garden
- Assassin Laboratory
Artifact System
Of course, it goes without saying that there are a lot of other new content being introduced. There's the new Artifact System that's sure to redefine the playstyle of different players through unique skills using Artifact item sets. The system has six parts which are four Talistones, a Solar Stone, and a Lunar Stone. Each one comes with unique stats and effects.
There are a total of 14 different Artifact sets across three grades (2 Common, 4 Uncommon, and 8 Rare). Players can trigger set bonuses by equipping 2, 4, or 6 matching pieces from the same set. The Solar Stone in particular provides an Active Skill while the Lunar Stone gives a Passive Skill when equipped.
New Lifestyle
The expansion introduces cozier aspects of Talandre with 24 new fish, 4 new fishing rods, and various new collectibles. Players can also look forward to 10 new cooking recipes and forage items. There's also another reason to gather ingredients especially with the 5 types of Elixir items that can be cooked.
Throne and Liberty follow the story of a tumultuous world where players need to defeat the evil Kazar and ascend to the throne. They’ll also need to fight against other guilds who are also hoping to gain power for themselves. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that there is no linear path when it comes to victory. This means that players need to find their own way in the story.
