A new update for The Elder Scrolls Online is launching to PC this October 28 and consoles on November 13. Update 44 is set to introduce new features to the game that’s sure to make players happy. One of these is the addition of two new companions to the roster.
Like with other Companions added to the game, each is going to have their own introductory quest which players need to complete before being able to summon them. The first is Tanlorin, who is a scrappy High Elf able to combine Soul Magic with Dragonknight abilities. The second companion is the stoic Khajiit Zerith-var who is able to use the power of Necromancy.
Passive Perks
These new companions also have a special passive perk when bringing them on the adventure. Tanlorin has “Tanlorin’s Finesse” which provides an increase to the time it takes to pick a lock along with an increased chance to force a lock as well as a reduced chance to break a lockpick. Meanwhile, Zerith-var has “Zerith’s Guidance, which highlights valuable bags of loot that can be found across Tamriel.
New Grimoire
A new Grimoire is also set to be added with the upcoming update. It’s called Banner Bearer, which was created by the scribes of the Mages Guild who are under the leadership of Votary Nahlia.
Banner Bearer is from the Support Skill Line and allows players to throw a banner on their back. With this they can then lead the charge and bring with them an AoE buff to their group’s abilities that match the chosen Focus. That means regardless of what shape the party takes, this new Grimoire makes sure that players can give their allies the support needed.
The new update also introduces greater support for nine Grimoires by granting them access to the 14 additional Focus Scripts and provide more damage options and utility.
Update 44 also makes changes to Battlegrounds which you can learn more about here.
