Update 43 for The Elder Scrolls Online is coming out next week. This free update not only offers new content but also introduces a bunch of quality of life improvements along with base-game refinements. One big change is the one made for Infinite Archive.
In the game, the Infinite Archive is a two-person arena that's located in a demiplane linked to Apocrypha. Unlike other arena's, it' doesn't have a normal or veteran mode. Instead what happens is that it gets progressively more difficult with each "round" a player completes.
Encounters Lead Mike Finnigan shared in a post that Infinite Archive was introduced to the game so that players get a changing experience which "they can jump into." It's also a way to offer them new challenges and ways to play. Since it was built from scratch, it means that it was possible to augment, change, and even add something to it.
Two New Arena Types
Once the new update goes live, players are sure to realize that the biggest change is the two new arena types. While the Apocryphal feel of the original has been retained, the addition of fire and ice elements should give them that unique feeling. In addition to a new feel, players are also going to find new strategies and power if they are to survive this augmented Infinite Archive.
Finnigan said they're excited to see how players take on the two stages considering that they play so differently.
New Rewards
It goes without saying that since there are new challenges available in the Infinite Archive, there's going to be new rewards. That said, players can look forward to new collectibles and seven new Class Sets. Exciting as these may be, the new Class Sets are the only ones up for grabs. There are a lot of goodies available. For example, there's a new consumable that lets players transform into a random avatar without the need for the requisite Visions. Another is the new Eye of the Infinite account upgrade Tool which can summon a shard of Tho’at that can hover up into the air and burst apart.
Update 43 is free and arrives August 19 for the PC and Mac versions. Meanwhile, those on PlayStation and Xbox consoles need to wait until September 4. You can get The Elder Scrolls Online for the PC via Steam.
