It's been almost a month since Lies of P has officially been released. Despite that, developer NEOWIZ has something to celebrate about which is that the 1 million units of the game has sold worldwide. Aside from being a commercial success, it has also obtained positive reception not only from fans but even critics. For example, it has 89$ positive review scores over on Steam.
Talking about this milestone, NEOWIZ co-CEO Seungchul Kim revealed in a statement that this success shows that Korean games do have potential on the global stage. He went on to say that this "project was a challenging endeavor" for the studio. Meanwhile, Lies of P Director Jiwon Choi shared that reception to the game has so far been incredible and they are thankful for the more than 1 million players who have started their journey. Choi added that they’re excited for what the future holds for the game.
Lies of P is inspired by the tale of Pinocchio. The game is set in the dark and Belle Époque-inspired city named Krat. This was once a beautiful city but has become a living nightmare for those living here with deadly puppets running amok while a plague is sweeping the land. Players take on the role of a puppet who needs to fight their way across the city. They need to find none other then Geppetto and with it finally become human.
In addition to experiencing an elegant world that’s filled with tension, players can also try out the deep combat that game has to offer while also enjoy the character customization systems.
Lies of P was released worldwide back in September. The game is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s also released for the PC through Steam with a Mac version recently made available. The standard edition is priced at $59.99 with the deluxe edition being offered at $69.99. The deluxe edition has what’s in the standard edition plus bonus items like the Great Venigni’s Signature Coat, Great Venigni’s Glasses, and Mask worn by those preparing for the festival.
