Square Enix announced that a free playable demo for Visions of Mana is now available for the PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Those on other platforms need not worry since the demo is also available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. With this, everyone has a chance to see what the game has to offer before its official release this August 29.

In the demo, players get the chance to go on a journey that starts partway through Chapter 1. This means they get to start at Rime Falls and the move to different areas like the Fallow Steppe and Rhata Harbor. Those who think they have what it takes can try and take on the final boss of the chapter which is the Kraken. As a way to enhance their experience with the demo, players can team up with three party members, Val, Careena and Morley. They can also experiment with the Wind and Moon classes.

While it is indeed exciting to know that a playable demo is now available, the downside is that the save data can’t be carried over to the full game. In a post, the studio revealed that this is because the content for the content has been changed to allow for a more satisfying experience.

The silver lining is that those who have save date from the demo can get three weapons for Val when they buy the full game.

The Mana series made its debut back in 1991 as a Final Fantasy Adventure. It was a spin-off of the Final Fantasy franchise. The series has since then immersed players in bright vibrant worlds along with breathtaking environments. They also get to meet heartwarming characters and experience high fantasy storylines.

For Visions of Mana, Mana Series Producer Masaru Oyamada and his team made sure to incorporate everything they’ve learned from the last 17 Mana games and 30 years of legacy. This is to make sure that the upcoming title remains a faithful addition to a series that fans have known and loved. At the same time, it also offers fans and those new to the franchise a free new experience especially with the new story, new characters, and even new gameplay mechanics.
