Josh Koenig Games announced that Firefly Village is more than ready to be released on Steam this August 11. The village welcomes everyone to an experience that's both casual and relaxing. It's a game where you get to discover the joy of a simple and rural life.
The game takes players to the titular Firefly Village. It's a tight-knit farming community that's nestled in faraway hills. Now instead of having players spend for the old family farm, the local carpenter's daughter Tilly has made the decision to give them for free. The only condition is that players need to put everything to use instead of them sitting idle and gathering dust.
It's All About Seeds
Firefly Village starts with players having a bag that has enough to see one field. Once it's been watered, players can then do whatever they want. They can explore the village, look for items to sell, and even meet the villagers. This game is all about having fun so there's no need for players to concern themselves with those usual farming worries. Remember that as long as the seeds are watered every day, the crops grow and yield produce. There are also farm animals that players take care of and in return receive the likes of milk and eggs.
Beyond Farming
Beyond the farm is a lake where players can take their time and fish. There's also an old mine that seems to be full of precious magical gems. It goes without saying that one of the highlights of the game is making those connections with the people of the town. Learn their likes and dislikes, give gifts, slowly build up those friendships, and ultimately earn a place in the community.
Talking about the game, developer Josh Koenig revealed in a statement that what he wanted to do was offer "a fresh take on farming sims" where players can stay in the flow without being bogged down by those wilting crops and the mandatory chores.
