BioWare released a new development blog which shows us more about what to expect in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Titled as "Exploration Across Thedas," it features new flyover videos which highlights some of the diverse areas that players experience in their journey.
The first is the Arlathan Forest that once held the heart of the Elvhen empire. It is here that ancient magic and powerful artifacts re-awaken. This is also the place where the masters of ancient elven magic known as Veil Jumpers do what they can to stabilize the region and keep reality from crumbling. Another area of interest is the Hossberg Wetlands. Most of this once-peaceful marshland has been consumed by the Blight. While the Darkspawn roam the swamps with impunity, the Grey Wardens continue to mount a valiant defense of the last safe haven which is Lavendel.
There's also a video which features Minrathous, the capital of the Tevinter Imperium. Here the Venatori wield corruption as they try to turn the Empire’s heart to their own dark purposes. However, the people resist with the rebel Shadow Dragons leading the charge. Rivain is also featured which is an ancient Grey Warden fortress sits among sparkling waters and lush greenery of the Rivain Coast. It is a place is what the Lords of Fortune call home. It may be a paradise for now but with the servants of the gods having their own plans, it could turn this sanctuary into a battlefield.
Finally, there's the merchant city of Treviso. It's known for the beauty of its canals and the deadliness of its assassins. The city is under Antaam occupation, a state of affairs that sits poorly with the Antivan Crows.
Be sure to check out the videos that feature the places mentioned here.
Anyway, as you get to explore more of the world, you’ll come across a lot of things to do as well as people to talk to. There’s also loot you can pick up to upgrade equipment. Keep an eye out for puzzles and lore. There are ancient statues, letters, and even artifacts, for you to read and collect Codex Entries.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard comes out October 31. Wishlist it on Steam now.
