DW Studio announced that they're launching a Closed Beta Test for Order of Kings. It starts February 5 and for those who want to experience what the game has to offer.
In a statement, the development team revealed that the game offers an innovative combination of RTS and 4X gameplay. While it is set on a 3D topographic field, the game is able to break away from the "stat-crunching" mechanics of traditional SLGs where fights are often reduced to numerical reports. The team said that what they wanted for the game was to offer a strategy experience that has expansive battlefields and unparalleled operational freedom. This was made possible by integrating real-time commands and physical collision detection into a dynamic sandbox, It gives players with profound tactical depth and responsive combat feedback.
RTS and SLG Gameplay
Order of Kings is an MMO game the combines RTS and SLG gameplay. Its realistic 3D terrain gaps have an impact on deployment tactics and strategy decision-making. Players can simultaneously command multiple troops where each troop comes with an individual attack range. Meanwhile, the physical collision effect results in every clash becoming a test of strategy and micro-control skills.
Real-time Battle
Order of Kings makes use of full real-time battle gameplay. Players are free to move troops, command soldiers with unique abilities, and attack ranges. This allows for flexible tactics such as attack, dodge, focus fire, flank, etc. Build your dream team with different types of soldiers to showcase your art of war.
Use Terrain
One interesting feature of the game is that players can use the terrain to their advantage. They can hide troops in forests for example or defend from high ground. They can also hold tight passes for a counterattack. It's important to remember that each terrain has its own value. Players have to seize key spots and utilize high ground vision to control the field.
