Day of the Shell is expected to be released for the PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games, in the third quarter of 2025. In addition to the PC, this new roguelite is also going to be available on consoles PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Day of the Shell is a fast-paced, tactical, and minimalistic roguelite. It's a game where each turn is played in a single click and players can use their action to move or shoot. They can also obtain several blessings that shape their playstyle to aid in their search through the isles.
The game is set in a world where the gods have brought down their wrath on humanity. As a result only a few remote islands remain. In the midst of all of these, a lonely monster huntress rises to challenge and try to appease the gods. She's traveling through what's left of the world. Players need to survive against monsters and collect treasures on each island to open its portal. Those who fail their quest get the chance to improve themselves for the next day.
Key features of the game include:
- One Click, One Turn: Tactical choices are made with a single click, making gameplay simple and dynamic while maintaining strategic depth.
- Explore the Islands: Survive against monsters and collect treasures on each island to open its portal.
- Shape Your Destiny: Combine the powers of the many Warden's blessings to fight enemies with different variations and combinations allowing players to create a unique playstyle for each game.
- Death is Part of the Adventure: With each death, players return to their home island where they can permanently upgrade or consider the strategy for the next day.
Since the game is still in development, there’s still no information on the recommended and minimum system requirements for the PC.
As mentioned, Day of the Shell is releasing for the PC. The console version includes PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is being planned in the near future. A free demo of the game is currently available on Steam.
