The first official demo of Paraside: Duality Unbound is now on Steam. This release comes after months of playtesting and multiple rounds of refinement based on player feedback. The demo is part of the October 2025 Steam Next Fest.

Paraside: Duality Unbound is a turn-based strategy game that features tactical wargaming and combines it with exploration and base management. It's being developed by Mistold Games and published by indie studio WhisperGames.

Combat Mode

Going back to the demo, it gives players the chance to try out unique game modes. The first is Combat Mode and guides players through the tactical depth of the Flip mechanic. It lets them experience the thrill of solving Go-like strategic puzzles.

Exploration Mode

The second one is Exploration Mode and opens up a freely explorable world. This one has players gather resources, defeat enemies, interact with diverse characters, and take on side quests. In this one, players can also manage their base where they can recruit agents with unique skills and assemble teams with different combat styles. They can also research technologies, upgrade facilities, and unlock new dimensions of the Flip ability.

In a post, the development team notes that in the full release, these two modes will be seamlessly integrated into the narrative, offering players a cohesive, fluid, and richly layered gameplay experience.

Paraside: Duality Unbound is set in a post-apocalyptic world that's been invaded by an extradimensional threat. Players now have to lead the last surviving forces in a fight for the survival of humanity. One of the main features of the game is the Flip mechanic which can reshape the battlefield as well as rewrite the flow of combat in a single move. The thing is, this mechanic doesn't end at the battlefield. The development team has teased that Flip can be used in other parts of the game.

Each encounter in the game is a living puzzle. Players can combine the Flip with the Surround and Kill system, both of which have been inspired by the game of Go. They can use the combination to outsmart, outmaneuver, and outplay enemies. The thing is, victory in the game isn’t just about positioning. Players can master dual-sided tactics to turn hopeless battles into stunning comebacks. However, there's no single path to victory. Players can mix creative strategies, RPG customization, and classic wargame tactics to forge their own style of command.
