Developer Springloaded gave a closer look at the four unique game modes that's coming to Let’s Build a Dungeon. That means there's going to be different ways to play this game dev simulator.

The four game modes each offer a unique experience which range from a traditional management sim to an open sandbox full to the brim with accessible game making tools.

Campaign Mode

One of the modes is Campaign Mode and serves as the core game dev simulation experience. It invites players to run a game studio and handle everything from hiring and firing and managing investor demands, to making those morality-driven decisions about crunch, generative AI and more.

This mode has players explore branching narratives as they navigate events that include the proposed development of Buddyland, a satirical in-game title that mimics real-world challenges within the games industry. It's important to remember that each decision matters and that the success of the studio hangs in the balance.

Just Build Mode

Meanwhile, Just Build Mode removes the layers of complexity from Campaign Mode and instead delivers a low-pressure and creative experience for up to four players online. In this one, players can focus on the joy of creation through a relaxing deck-building system to choose new quest cards, asset packs and marketing activities to help the game level up to become the next big hit. There's the option to play solo or with friends.

Creative Mode

Creative Mode serves as a game making playground which is powered by accessible game making tools. The open sandbox invites players to write their own stories, create dialogue and cutscenes, draw characters, and even adjust gameplay mechanics, all to develop their perfect game.

They can design anything from a cozy RPG to a sprawling dungeon labyrinth, with thousands of assets available for use including buildings, decorations and NPCs. Players can also use the creative tools to draw custom sprites and assets and let their imagination run wild.

Dungeoneering

Finally, there's Dungeoneering. This is the hub for discovering curated and community creations made within Let’s Build a Dungeon. Players can browse, share, and play games made by others. This includes the exclusive experiences made by the team at Springloaded.

Let’s Build a Dungeon is a unique management simulator that comes from the same team responsible for Let’s Build a Zoo.
