Devs to Make Improvements to Sound in The First Descendant

The development team over at Nexon revealed that they've been working to make improvements to the sounds in The First Descendant. These changes are based on player feedback and once it goes live, should enhance both the immersion and enjoyment when it comes to the battles.

Sound Effect Renewal

The team shared that they've enhanced the overall detail of gun sounds. This is to give each weapon its own unique texture and firing feel. Along with these weapon improvements, they've also finely tuned elements like feedback when firing bullets, reverberation based on distance, and recoil to allow a more realistic and immersive battle experience. Check out the improved sounds of some weapons in the video here.

Hit Sound Renewal

Improvements have also been made on the weapon feedback. This was done by differentiating hit sounds in different situations and give players a more immersive experience during monster and Colossus battles. The Weak Point hits have also been enhanced by putting in dedicated hit sounds when striking Colossi's Weak Points.

Another improvement was on the hit sounds versus Immune enemies where they are now distinct from regular hits and thus make it easier for the player to grasp their situation.

Item Pick-Up UI Sound Renewal

The team went on to say that they've improved the UI sound played when obtaining items to give it a more natural and harmonious audio experience. In the past, the repetitive sound of item acquisition during Battle had the tendency to disrupt immersion. With this change, it now matches the overall audio balance of the game and thus ensure that it doesn't interrupt the flow of Battle.

Sound Option Refinement

The changes made aren't only on the sound quality. The team said they've even refined the options to allow for more detailed sound settings and thus enhance immersion and control feel during battle.

What this means is that players can adjust sound effects, UI sounds, and voice separately to fine-tune sound settings based on their personal preference or play environment.
