Dying Light 2 Stay Human Invites You to the Halloween Showdown

jasonnieva October 31, 2025

Halloween returns to Dying Light 2 Stay Human and brings with it a mix of familiar scares and new surprises. What makes this year's event different is that it features an open-world experience and combines it with the Tower Raid: Halloween Run format that was introduced last year. The Halloween Showdown runs from October 30 to November 20.

The Halloween event spans three weeks with each one being built around head-to-head faction contests that challenge players to pick a side and contribute to their faction’s success. Serving once again as the event vendor and guide is Baka the Unfortunate. He'll be the one to distribute bounties, handle trades, and of course, reward survivors.

Weekly Theme

For each week during the event, there's going to be a new pair of rival factions that are led by themed characters. These are:

  • Week 1: Plague vs. Scarecrow
  • Week 2: Van Aiden vs. Count Skull
  • Week 3: CyberRaider vs. Cursed Pirate

Earning Halloween Candy

Those able to complete event activities can earn a special event currency which is a new type of Halloween Candy. While the candies function the same as the event tokens in the previous years, there are different ways to earn them each week. To earn Halloween Candy, players need to:

  • Week 1: kill Halloween enemies across Villedor
  • Week 2: playing Tower Raid
  • Week 3: doing bounties on the Community Maps

Exchange the Candies

The candies can be exchanged with Baka to contribute points toward the goal chosen by the faction. Both factions work toward milestones and once the target is reached, all participants get themed weapons which correspond to that matchup. The thing is, the competition continues until the end of the week.

Obtain Rewards

Then at the end of each weekly competition, the faction that obtains the most points unlocks an exclusive character-themed charm for all players. The charms are visible in-game through the faction selection screen and let everyone see the competing rewards and decide which team to support. Throughout the event, players can continue to earn candies and reputation by completing bounties, defeating seasonal enemies, exploring the City, and conquering Tower Raid’s haunted variant.

Arriving alongside the event is a new patch which introduces fixes and improvements to the game. Check out the complete patch notes here.
