For Honor is introducing a new feature that hopes to make things a bit easier for those who want to return to the game or even want to try it out. After all, the game is known for its intense and tactical battles. This new game mode is called Starter Dominion and hopes to make the experience smoother while at the same time ensuring that the thrill of combat remains present.
In a post, Ubisoft revealed that their goal for this new mode is to be able to grow the community and make sure that it is "easier for both new and returning warriors" to join and enjoy the fight. This is actually part of a broader effort by the studio to offer an environment that is more welcoming and at the same time reduces complexity. It's a way of helping all players feel confident when they're on the battlefield.
Here's what to expect for this game mode:
- Same core rules as Dominion, with adjustments for accessibility.
- Gear Perks, Feats, Stamina, and Revenge are disabled for a streamlined experience.
- Enter into matchmaking with friends with the remaining slots in the team filled with the strongest bots to keep the action flowing.
- Starter Dominion keeps the intensity players love just with fewer barriers to entry.
The studio reminds everyone that Starter Dominion is not a Testing Grounds or even Game Mode Event. Instead, it’s a temporary mode that's been designed to obtain feedback and learn for the future. The testing schedules are:
- First test: December 4 to December 18
- Second test: January 29 to February 12
This is also a good time to return to the game or even join especially with the launch of the new season. Read more about it here.
