Get a Closer Look at Worldless with the New Developer Commentary Video

A new developer commentary video for Worldless has been released. With this, we can get a deeper look at how the game is able to offer metroidvania exploration mixed in with turn-based action combat and RPG-style upgrades. The game is coming out November 21 and available for the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

In the video, Creative and Animation Director Joel Roset offers a closer at a key gameplay mechanic. In particular, the video shows how players are rewarded for exploring each corner of a level with new abilities which can then be used in combat. Then there's the map which been designed efficiently to show what has been cleared and what's left to be discovered. In the same video, Roset explains how the combination of the turn-based and real-time combat systems work.

An Eternal Conflict

The game is set in a newborn universe that's based on entities which are trapped in an eternal conflict because of the polarizing nature of their attractions. These interactions have resulted in an exchange of their polarities. However, this problem is highly unstable, and no one knows what can come from it. That said, players get to explore intricate and interconnected areas which are full of secrets and mysteries to uncover. Along the way players get to encounter different beings which want nothing more than to stop them from finding their place in the universe.

For the game, it all starts with players establishing themselves and uncovering those unimaginable possibilities. They can jump and dash their way across abstract areas in pursuit of transcendence. It's also important to upgrade abilities courtesy of the intricate yet rewarding talent tree. Players can then be part of active time and turn-based battles where they need to time their attacks and defenses perfectly to defeat enemies.
