Guild Wars 2: Get to Earn New Rewards with the Wizard’s Vault

A new expansion is coming out next for Guild Wars 2. Secrets of the Obscure released August 22 and invites players to discover the mystery behind the Wizard's Tower. One of the features it's going to add is the new reward system known as the Wizard's Vault.

You see, the people of Tyria aren't familiar with wizards. That's going to change when the expansion is launched, and players get to know more about them. One of their qualities is that they're known to be an acquisitive lot and thus has amassed what can be described as a treasure trove. While they typically are not known to leave their towers, it seems that these wizards have come up with a system where adventures who finish certain tasks earn astral acclaim. Any acclaim gathered can then be exchanged for rewards from the vault.

The Wizard's Vault

According to developer ArenaNet, the Wizard's Vault system functions works like a seasonal content pass offered in other games. However, for the game, it was developed from scratch to make sure that it was as player friendly as possible. What that means is that any exclusive cosmetics offered remain even if the season has ended. Players can also choose the reward order and there won't be any cost whether in gems or real money. The goal is to give players things to do in the game and them reward them for doing it.

Earning Rewards

Here's how the Wizard's Vault works. As players complete objectives, they earn astral acclaim. This can then be used to buy any items that are in the Wizard's Vault shop. What makes this one different is that rather than unlocking items at certain tiers, players can immediately choose the reward they want.

While the rewards offered in the Wizard's Vault are going to rotate every few months, any cosmetic rewards introduced through this system remains available. These won’t be part of the most recently updated offerings but instead placed on the legacy tab of the reward shop. The cosmetic rewards can still be bought using astral acclaim though they are available at a higher price.

There won’t be a premium tier where additional rewards are offered. In addition, astral acclaim can’t be purchased with gems or even real money.
