Here’s What’s Being Planned for the RaidZone in Once Human

RaidZone was opened up in Once Human back in May. This PvP game series is a survival of the fittest and where everyone is both hunter and prey. It goes without saying that there have been some issues and the good news is that developer Starry Studio is working to fix those.

Territory Optimizations

In RaidZone, the core gameplay element is all about attacking and defending territories. However, there are construction features that allow for unfair intel advantages and thus affect the fairness. To ensure balance, the studio said that they'll be limiting some features or even disabling it. These include using flight mode in Construction mode though in RaidZone only.

Friendly Fire

Another issue raised is that it appears a simple numerical superiority has resulted in a disproportionate impact on team battle outcomes and this affected game balance. To make sure that there would be more emphasis on strategy and team coordination, a friendly fire mechanic is being introduced in RaidZone. What this means is that weapons, Deviation skills, and other attacks now damage allied units and structures.

The studio shared that they'll continue to monitor this feature and gather player feedback to decide if further adjustments are needed.

Anti-Cheat Measures

Like with a lot of other video games, there's also a concern on cheating. The studio assured everyone that they'll never tolerate the use of cheats, exploits, or other malicious acts, especially those that undermine fair play and the player experience. To address this issue, the studio is implementing a series of forceful countermeasures.

For starters, the anti-cheat monitoring system is constantly being upgraded. The studio is also working to improve the detection models through the use of cutting-edge AI and Big Data technologies. Currently, there have been more than 100 optimizations implemented to the detection models.
