Oneway Ticket Studios announced that The Midnight Walkers is now available in Steam Early Access. This hardcore zombie shooter gives players the chance to play in solo or trios mode. In addition to killing zombies, they'll also need to scavenge for loot to obtain gear.
The Midnight Walkers is set in an enormous multifloor megacomplex during a zombie outbreak. It has players being forced into a deadly game of survival by the megalomaniac Mr. Nobody. To survive, players not only have to fight off the restless undead but also their fellow contestants. The PvEvE game has players hunt down valuable loot along with gear across several floors of the Liberty Grand Center. They can fend off zombies with weapons that include Sledgehammers, Bows, Katanas, and Pistols.
As each game progresses, poison gas spreads across the complex and forces players to flee to new floors via stairwells or elevators. This pushes opposing players into an ever-shrinking safe space. The more enemies nearby, the harder it is to safely extract. It increases the tension as players attempt to leave with their gear and their life or leave with nothing at all.
According to the studio, they'll be releasing updates throughout the game's early access period. New weapons and new floors for example are going to be added in the near future. There's also an entirely unique PvE mode planned to come out sometime later in 2026.
Classes
The Midnight Walkers gives players the option to choose from four different classes. These are:
- Brick: a steadfast warrior armed with a large hammer and heavy armor.
- Crow: an assassin with nimble movements who uses daggers to strike opponents off guard.
- Lockdown: a sniper who can attack from a distance using a bow.
- Bartender: a supporter who can mix cocktails to heal and buff allies.
Players need to be sure to choose the class that fits their playstyle.
Face Enemies
In the game, all the zombies are deadly. The Walker for example, considered as the weakest zombie, can be a great threat especially if they surround the players. Then there's the Runner, which fiercely pursues survivors.
However, the biggest threat isn't the zombies by the other survivors. Make sure to defeat other survivors and seize that loot.
In a statement, Game Director Ray Song shared that they've excited to finally release the Game. He added that committed to using Early Access "to build and improve" the game alongside the players.
