The Co-Op Update for Mirthwood is now live. It brings both local co-op and Steam Remote Play support to this medieval life sim RPG. This should give players the chance to learn more about the Freelands of Mirthwood.
The Co-Op Update allows for drop-in/drop-out local multiplayer and features a shared dynamic camera system that adjusts as players explore. Whether it's planting crops, battling brigands, or even starting a family. Each corner of Mirthwood is now for everyone to share.
The second player in particular enjoys full access to farming, crafting, combat, skill progression, and mount riding. Both players retain their individual inventories, skills, and gear. There's also seamless transitions between co-op and single-player modes.
Raise Children
For players who are romantically inclined, they'll be happy to know that they can even marry their co-op partner and raise a child together. The children grow over time, inherit traits from both parents, and eventually strike out on their own.
Details of this feature include:
- If the player is married, they can try for a child with their partner.
- Players need to procure a Crib in order to attempt having a baby.
- Children generate appearance & traits from a mix of their parents.
- Children grow in stages (baby, toddler, youth, adult).
- In later stages, children have requests for the player.
- In later stages, children occasionally help on the farm.
- Upon reaching adulthood, children leave the farm and move into a nearby town.

- A new “downed” state lets players rescue each other in combat.
