Funcom announced that the Lost Harvest DLC for Dune: Awakening is releasing on September 10. This paid DLC offers a complete standalone storyline. Arriving alongside the DLC is a free update.
The Lost Harvest DLC tells the story of a carryall transporting a Miner’s Guild spice harvester. Its cargo could change everything and now it's been shot out of the sky. It is now the job of the players to find it.
Aside from a new story, the DLC also brings with it several unique cosmetics that include a new vehicle known as the Treadwheel. It comes complete with its own unique animations and tier upgrades. By the way, the vehicle and other cosmetics provide no material benefit over its base game counterpart.
There are also other cosmetics released at the same time like several armor and weapon skins. It also has what's called the Dune Man building set which lets players build bases in the style of those pragmatic and weathered workers of Arrakis.
The DLC is available for $12.99 and is included in the Season Pass. The Season Pass is priced at$24.99 and includes The Lost Harvest DLC and two more major DLCs. The Season Pass is already included in both the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition.
Chapter 2 Update
Arriving alongside the DLC is the Chapter 2 Update. In a post, the studio shared that the update plan for the game is divided into free major updates in the form of Books and Chapters and then paid content in the form of DLCs and Expansions. Basically, Chapter Updates are going to be released in parallel with DLCs.
Chapter 2 is the first major content update and available free. It invites players to embark on the next chapter of the main story as it follows the sinister revelations at the end of Chapter 1. They get to explore new locations, meet new and familiar faces, delve deeper into the nature of their origins, and unravel a web that stretches into the darkest corners of the Imperium.
In addition to the continuation of the story, Chapter 2 also brings with it several new contracts, new dynamic encounters, new archetype armors, and character re-customization, to name a few.
