For those who have been playing MapleStory for quite a long time and what a new experience, there's something interesting happening. Nexon has launched a new name auction that everyone can participate in.
For the period January 15 to February 11, players can sell off the old names of their characters or find new ones for them. Names are going to be available to buy or sell using Maple Points.
In order to be part of this new event, players need to have characters that are at least level 10. Once they meet those requirements, there are two ways to join. First is to go to the Event List then select "New Name Auction" and click "Participate." The second way to join is speak with Mr. Newname, who can be found in major towns.
During the New Name Auction event, players can make transactions from Interactive and Heroic worlds. They can have as many as five character name transactions. Any trade history completed is stored until June 10. Names and Maple Points from sales that aren't claimed during the storage period disappear so players need to make sure to claim them before then.
By the way, the New Name Auction won’t be available in Burning World. In addition, character names which break the naming policy are going to have their transaction forcefully canceled or changed. The name change fees and deposits won’t be refunded.
