Nanbu Works announced that they've tapped Yoshimi Kudo to take charge of the music for their upcoming roguelike tactics RPG Indomitable Blade. This should exciting news for any RPG fan.
That's because Yoshimi Kudo is the same on who composed and arranged the music for Elden Ring. His career goes way back 2007 as a member of the Basiscape. It was during his time with this music production company that he got involved with different game music projects that include not only Elden Ring but also other titles like METAL SAGA – Ark in the Wilderness, Raiden V, CARAVAN STORIES, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, and UNICORN OVERLORD.
His compositions span orchestral, HM/HR, progressive, EDM, and crossover genres. Kudo has long worked to enhance the gaming experience by creating music that maximizes the unique appeal of game soundtracks while at the same time emphasizing freshness and innovation.
For his work on Indomitable Blade, the soundtrack and the trailer which features the main theme is going to be available on the YouTube channel of Nanbu Works.
Tokyo Game Show 2024
By the way, the game was chosen for the fourth stage of iGi, which is an indie game developer support program run by Marvelous Inc. As such, it's going to be exhibited as a playable title during Tokyo Game Show 2024 under the "iGi indie Game incubator / Sofu Booth." There's also a playable demo available during this time which features the main theme and battle theme composed by Kudo.
The Story
The game is set in a world where the Horn and Lausram people are in conflict. The barrier that's protecting Horn, known as Greusdal, has been broken, and now the massive Lausram army is advancing. Known for their military prowess, the Horn people are optimistic with each clan eagerly headed to the frontlines as they see it to be a chance to show their strength. However, they unaware of the cruel fate that's lurking behind the broken barrier.
Exciting Features
The game offers a unique combat system where each parameter can be the target of normal attacks. There's attack "defense" for well-protected enemies or "strength" for those with powerful weapons. The game also features a roguelike system where the story branches change randomly. Overall, Indomitable Blade has players enjoy a profound fantasy experience that has new discoveries each time they play.
