The Remastered Version
The original game was first released through the PlayStation Vita. The Remastered version came out in early January of this year. It was made possible with the original developer and introduces a lot of new features. These include 4K resolution, upgraded textures, and improved online multiplayer. There's also the "Deadly Sinner" higher difficulty mode. Those on current gen platforms can also enjoy 60fps.
The upgraded player systems allow for streamlining when it comes to looting and crafting. There's also an improvement when it comes to other player interactions. The story remains unchanged.
Meet the Sinners
FREEDOM WARS Remastered is set in the distant future. It's a time where humanity is in a struggle to survive. Pollution has devastated the planet with the remnants of humanity being divided amongst city-sized prisons known as Panopticons.
With resources being so scarce, living itself has become a crime and those born are immediately given a million years of prison time. These are the "Sinners" and the only option other than awaiting death in prison is to fight for freedom with allies for resources, to rescue productive citizens from abduction by rival enemies, or take up arms against other enemy Sinners from competing Panopticons.
Enter the Panopticon
The Panopticons themselves function as its own entity. Players need to navigate in this prison environment and make use of what's known as Entitlement Points. These points are earned from volunteering for combat and allow players to claim new rights from their wardens like the ability to run for five seconds or even to recline while seated. The wardens meanwhile are fully customizable android accessories that can accompany players into battle under their ever-watchful eyes.
The Panopticon’s community of prisoners are important when it comes to survival. Each mission supports up to four Sinners either AI-controlled NPCs or with other players in online co-op.
It's time to choose whether to die in prison or live on the battlefield. Get FREEDOM WARS Remastered on Steam now.
