The high seas just became even more difficult as Season 4 arrives in Skull and Bones. That's because a Mythic difficulty tier has been implemented. This is a good bonus challenge for those on their way to becoming a kingpin.
While players are in the Mythic tier, they'll be taking on seasonal bosses who have modified combat. These include having increased rate of fire, enhanced damage, and increased movement speed, to name a few. Players can choose to face the challenge head on solo or form a team in co-op. Of course, those able to conquer the challenge get to earn an exclusive achievement badge.
New Mode
It's not just a new tier added to the game. Players can now enjoy a new game mode known as Ghost Ship Defense. In this new mode, they'll have to protect their owned manufactories from a ghostly assailant that's looking to take over their Helm operations. Making things difficult is that Vikram Rajan has managed to raise two sea monsters from the dead. The Tylosaurus and the Megalodon are now up and about looking to take their revenge. For those wondering who Vikram is, he's the new villain introduced in Season 4 and you can read more about him here.
New Events
Season 4 also introduces players to new world events. There's the Azure Solstice limited-time event where the Azure Fleet has invaded the Indian Ocean. Defeating them is going to be tough, but those who do get to obtain the Life-Stealing Long Gun. In addition, during the event players can Winter Gifts to different NPCs and in return obtain reward chests.
Another one is the Enter the Nian event. This one has the Megalodons taking over the seas. The event hen culminates in an elite boss warship that needs teamwork to take down.
Shadow Ivory
The new seasonal currency in the game is Shadow Ivory. This can be obtained acquired by defeating Vikram and Jonas Vanderkill on the high seas. It can also be obtained through Helm opportunities, limited-time events, and even Smuggler's Pass challenges.
Shadow Ivory can be redeemed with William Blackwood for exclusive Shadows of the Deep rewards that include Heal by Ram armor, the Soulshield Springloader, and the Reaper's Toll furniture.
By the way, Season 4 adds a new ship to the game as well and you can learn more about it here. You can get Skull and Bones for the PC via Steam.
