XD Games announced that the new season of Torchlight: Infinite is now available on both PC and mobile. Overrealm invites players to a new multi-layered dimension that's filled with innovative mechanics, explosive new builds, and a revamped progression system.
The new season introduces to the game a groundbreaking seasonal mechanic, which is a series of timed and procedurally generated rifts accessed through what's called as "Doors" in the Netherrealm. Once players find a Door, they'll have to interact with it and defeat the guardian that emerges from it.
Once inside, the goal is to defeat monsters as quickly as possible to fill the Containment Progress bar. When the progress bar is full, a new Door to a deeper and more difficult layer appears. Initially, players can venture as much as four layers deep. It's important to note that the run is on a timer and once it expires, the excursion in Overrealm ends.
Bottled Shadows
The Bottled Shadow is a new seasonal item that allows players to customize their rewards during an Overrealm run. As they fill the Containment Progress bar, players automatically capture the Shadows of defeated monsters in the bottle. Each captured Shadow grants a powerful and drop-related bonus for the remainder of the current run.
Bonuses are varied and include chances for monsters to drop extra Flame Fuel, increased item rarity, or even an additional piece of Matchless-tier Legendary Gear. Capturing the same type of Shadow multiple times stacks its bonus and can lead to potentially massive loot yields.
Overrealm Disturbances
The Overrealm is an unstable dimension and upon entering a new layer, players may trigger a Disturbance. This is a special map modifier that adds significant risk and reward. Resurrection for example has defeated monsters respawn in a new and empowered form though gives bonus Drop Quantity when killed. The Fall disturbance meanwhile has dangerous tentacles rain from the sky as well as summon waves of enemies that drop substantially more loot.
