A new trailer has been released for the action role-playing game Fate/Samurai Remnant. This is the third trailer released and this one gives us a peek into what it means to live in the streets of Edo. It also shows the deeper aspects when it comes to the storyline.

You can watch the new trailer below:

Master & Servant

In the Fate franchise, Masters are paired with heroic spirits also called as Servants. Various pairs have been fighting across history through what’s known as the Holy Grail Wars with the winners getting an ancient artifact which can grant wishes. In the game, the setting is now the Edo Period of Japan with players taking control of the young samurai named Miyamoto Iori who fights with his Servant Saber.

Throughout the Fate franchise, pairs of Masters and heroic spirits - also known as Servants - have been fighting across history in a series of Holy Grail Wars, with the winning duo receiving an ancient artifact that grants wishes. Fate/Samurai Remnant continues the series’ epic Holy Grail War in Edo Period Japan as players control young samurai Miyamoto Iori alongside his Servant Saber. Here, a battle between seven pairs of Masters and Servants is about to begin as the “Waxing Moon Ritual” unfolds in the shadows.

Exploring the Town

As Iori, players explore Edo while also performing various activities that include wandering the streets while being accompanied by Servants, doing some shopping over at the mysterious "Babyloni-ya", or visiting the different famous places across town. There are also going to be side quests that need to be completed in order for players to earn money and obtain those much-needed materials.

Fighting Enemies

By being part of the Waxing Moon Ritual, Iori needs to prepare before going against powerful enemies. This is made possible through the help of not only Saber but also the other Rogue Servants. What this means is that players not only have to upgrade the skill tree of Iori but also that of Saber and the other Rogue Servants. Aside from the skill tree, there are also materials that Iori can use with his sword mounting to make its abilities stronger.

Players can also fill in the Memento Ring of Saber which in turn can make the bong between Master and Servant stronger. To do this, they'll need to explore the town and progress through the game's story. Once a certain level is reached, players can then increase the chances of using Link Strikes during a fight or ever unlocking new skills in Saber's tree.

Fate/Samurai Remnant is launching for the PC through Steam on September 29.
