Noodle Cat Games announced that the Open Beta for Cloudheim begins July 18. It's going to be playable until April 21. This action-RPG was developed for co-op chaos and based around creative physics-based combat. Up to four players can form a team to unleash mayhem in a fully destructible world.

In Cloudheim, the offensive options available to players are exponentially expanded as they craft hundreds of potential weapons, gear, and powerful attacks on the fly. The thing is, in the game there are no menus or downtime. Players can see exactly what their friends are up to at any given moment. Players need to work as a team to make the most of the ever changing array of abilities. Now while loot and crafted items are shared, player progression is not.

The game has players explore diverse islands and mysterious dungeons as they build up their flying turtle base, which is the Odin Shell. Expand the workshop, customize the space, run a thriving shop, and uncover hidden secrets.

Key features of the game are:

  • Physics-Driven Combat: Lasso, launch, and juggle enemies into fire pits, each other, or the scenery.
  • Real-Time Crafting & Fusion: Grab and toss materials directly into crafting stations in the world. There are no menus and no inventory clutter. It’s just pure, visible teamwork.
  • Drop-In 4-Player Co-Op: Tame creatures, fight bosses, and explore mythic dungeons with friends. All loot is shared but progression is not.
  • Evolving Base & Shop System: Return from adventures to upgrade the base, sell loot, and unlock new features.
  • Stylized Fantasy World: Built by a dev team where artists outnumber any other department, Cloudheim is rich with visual flair, character, and discovery.

In a statement, Noodle Cat Games CEO and Founder David Hunt shared that one way to describe the game is that it's a "charming action adventure" that's mixed in with physics based combat and brawler spectacle. The game is one where players get to wreak havoc with friends. Hunt revealed that they've managed to build a sprawling combat playground that's more than ready for experimentation, and a great place to hang out with friends against the cozy crafting backdrop.
