Developer CRG announced that open beta for its upcoming title Crystalfall is set to begin this December 13. For those who were able to experience the closed beta back in June, they'll see that there is a lot of new content available. In celebration the open beta, there's going to be supporter packs available for a limited time on Razer Gold and Epic Store.

New World Zones

For starters, they can explore new zones which are the "Fallen Metropolis" and the Northern Lands." With these, there are now a total of five world zones available during the open beta.

In a statement, CEO Åke André shared that it's exciting to offer a total of five world zones in the upcoming open beta. He added that it's important to offer as much as possible during the playtests. He went on to say that this should allow players to give feedback on a lot of features.

New Class

Players should also be happy to know that for the open beta there's going to be a new class they can try out which is Technomancer. This is partly a result of what the community has been asking the studio as early as the alpha playtest.

Talking about this new class, Creative Director Daniil Sanders said that when it comes to action RPGs, mage classes remain a popular choice and the community has been requesting it. He revealed that they've been looking into various steampunk-themed characters and it seems that it is the Technomancer that "perfectly encapsulates the crystal technology and magic" of the game.

Other New Content

Aside from what’s already mentioned, here are the other new content available in the upcoming open beta:

  • New Dungeons and mini dungeons
  • New Mobs
  • New Bosses
  • Socketables for Talent Tree and Skill Tree for more character customization
  • New Weapons and Gear
  • New Quests
  • Updated User Interface and VFX

In Crystalfall, players take on the role of an escaped convict and begin on a journey across a world that’s been devastated by a mysterious asteroid. To survive in this world they’ll need to dive into post-apocalyptic dungeons that are randomized upon each visit. Inside, their strength are tested against mighty bosses.
