Developer FLAT28 Collections announced that a playable Alpha Demo of Glasshouse is going to be available during the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025. It's going to be at the IndieArenaBooth from August 20 to August 24.
Gamescom is a trade fair for video games that is held every year at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. Since its inauguration back in 2009, Gamescom has become what can be described as one of the world's largest gaming events. For this year, it's going to be from August 20 to August 25. After the Alpha Demo, the studio shared in a statement that they'll be releasing a timed exclusive on the Community Discord, in the form of a Playtest, and after that on Steam.
For the Alpha Demo of Glasshouse, it comes after around two years of silence since the studio came out with the Concept Demo. Fans can enjoy the first 30 minutes of the game's Act I. Much has changed and according to the studio, they're excited to show everyone the progress they've made mainly thanks to the feedback.
The studio went on to say that everything is going to be new and never seen before. Nothing from what was initially available on ITCH is included in the Alpha Demo. If the 2023 Concept Demo can be considered as the standalone echo of the potential, the version coming out in August is the definitive form of the game. The Alpha Demo marks a turning point for the game as well as an important milestone.
Here's what to expect for the demo:
- Act I - Chapter 1 fully playable (30+ minutes)
- Combat System implemented
- Political Compass redesigned
- 8 NPCs to meet, love and hate
- Dormitory 73B freely explorable
- Journal redesigned
- Glossary implemented
- New QTEs and PUZZLES in the Interaction Tab
- UI/UX completely redesigned from scratch
- Graphics improved and significantly optimized
Glasshouse is an isometric Turn-Based-CRPG that's set in a post-capitalist Feudalpunk world at the dawn of a terrible world war. The game is inspired by RPGs in the likes of Disco Elysium and Pathologic. Glasshouse promises an intense narrative-roleplaying experience that's punctuated by unforgettable characters, complex dialogue trees, multiple endings and deep ideological introspections that go beyond the screen.
