A new update has been released for Dicey Tales and introduces a lot of new features to the game. One of these is the Reroll System which is now a default feature.
There's no question that the game has dice as a core element of the strategy. With each turn, the dice that players roll can change the situation and need them to come up with various strategies. Considering the nature of the dice, it's obvious that there's a high reliance on luck. While the unpredictability is one of the charms of the game, it appears that developer Superlazy wanted to do more. This is why the studio made the decision to come up with the reroll feature. In particular, it allowed for deeper strategic choices.
Under the old system, players had two rerolls per battle. With this new feature, they can now obtain more rerolls through the [Pioneer of Fate] chronicle. As a way to support rerolling, a new hover feature has been added to check the dice face composition.
Character Changes
There are also character changes made like Richard being added to the game as a new starting hero. He's been designed to serve as a support for mage-type characters. To unlock him, players need to go through quest progression and chronicles.
Another big change is that Tasha and Valla no longer appear in the early game. Instead, they now join through dedicated events. Those who can complete these events also unlock them at the inn through a chronicle.
Still on the matter of heroes, [Mercenary Join] chronicle have been added, which allow players to recruit a hero early in the game. However, initial starting heroes can no longer be recruited at inns.
Aside from what's already mentioned, the Skill Branching System has been introduced and you can read more about it here. Check out the other changes made to the game here.
