Games Farm released a new video which features new gameplay footage for Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel. It offers a recap of what's been happening in Early Access and moves towards what's going to happen with the 1.0 launch.
The video is narrated by Adriana Tanaskovic, who serves as the Marketing & Community Manager at Grindstone. It runs through the classes, playstyles, and divine power ups. The video also offers a guided tour of the realms that players need to fight their way through. Watch the video here.
Playtest Recap
The game was released in Early Access back in January of this year. The full version of Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel is expected to come out on September 3. It's going to be available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
In a post, the studio revealed that the number of players who joined the playtests exceeded expectations as well as the average playtime of 2 hours. After looking into the in-game feedback and messages across channels, it seems that the most appreciated feature was the build variety along with the freedom to experiment. Meanwhile, the biggest frustration was the overly punishing Omens and deaths that felt unfair due to balance issues.
Because of this, the studio shared that improvements to be implemented in 1.0 include:
- Omens rebalanced
- Performance optimized
- Objectives added
- Enemy scaling adjusted
- Leveling speed increased
- Endless-incompatible skills handled
- Item pools and interactable objects updated
- Omen display improved in the HUD
- Resource rewards in Endless clarified
