Burgee Media recently revealed its plans for Erenshor in 2025. There's a lot of work being done and one of these is to improve combat in the game.
When Erenshor was released back in April 2025, the studio was fortunate enough to get feedback from the community. One such feedback has been that combat was not only unclear but also hard to read. In a post, the studio revealed that one player described the situation best as combat being all about "can you out-heal the NPC damage."
Unlimited Mana
One of the reasons is that mana seems to be "unlimited" especially with duelist mana restore spells. What happens is that the mana pool doesn't matter. To address this issue, the studio said that they'll be completely removing the duelist mana restoration spell line. While this means that in-game mana regeneration is going to be reduced, out of combat mana regen should increase. In addition, it also means that the size of the mana pool now matters.
To support this change, spell mana costs and SimPlayer spell usage are going to be tweaked. AS a result, an able party should be able to complete encounters without running out of mana through careful mana management.
Healing Too Much
Another problem is that healing spells heal for too much. Players can plan on the max level heal spell "fully healing" just about any player in the game once they get it. The plan is to shift heal spells to faster cast and lower amounts.
What this means is that players can decide for example to top up the tank immediately or wait until the tank is lower and hit him then.
Damage Issues
There's also the issue of damage being too spiky in the game. At present, NPCs hit for huge amounts of damage and in some cases can "two-round" a tank. It goes without saying that this isn't fun. The studio said that they plan to stretch combat out which should have NPCs hit for less though they'll hit at a quicker pace. Players should be able to predict incoming damage and plan their strategy around that.
Other Changes
The studio also shared that NPCs are getting cast bars so players can plan to interrupt spells. Damage spells with a longer casting time should help facilitate this. Meanwhile, in a lot of cases MOBs appear to die too fast. However with the plan to increase the party size, the HP pool is going to need an increase.
