Solo developer Lukas Irzl has released a new trailer for the upcoming title Pale Coins. The game invites players to go on a dark and perilous journey in the open world of Grenmark. It's a fantasy action RPG that features classic RPG elements combined with challenging Souls-like combat.
Indeed, the world of Grenmark is stunning mainly due to the handcrafted vibrant pixel art and fantasy theme. The journey that players take has them go through various treacherous environments that include forests, ruins, mountains, and even gloomy caverns. It's a land that's filled with mysteries waiting to be uncovered and there are dangers that lurk around every corner. That said, enjoy the new trailer here.
Combat System
In a statement, Lukas Irzl shared that while the game is still in development, an extensive combat system is already in place. There are a lot of enemies waiting for players to fight against. It's also going to be a challenge since aside from the traditional enemy types like skeletons, orcs, and goblins, there are also boss encounters which are sure to test the skills of the players. To have a chance of surviving against the wave of enemies, players can use different equipment, each one having its own attributes and gameplay feel.
There are also gears that come with unique skills. These rare pieces of equipment let players cast magic spells, make use of new movement abilities, and summon minions, to name a few.
Getting Help
Equipment won’t be enough against the various enemies, but the good news is that players won’t be alone as they go on adventures. This is because Grenmark has a lot of NPXs with each one bringing with them their own stories and quests. While some offer rewards, others guide players through the branching storylines filled with tough moral choices. That means each encounter shapes the journey of the players in unexpected ways to result in a rich and immersive world, one filled with memorable moments.
Players can now wishlist Pale Coins on Steam and those who want to check out the game early can try out the free demo. The full game is scheduled for a full release in late 2025.
