Bethesda Game Studios announced that more than four million players have started their adventure in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This is exciting news considering that the game only came out last week.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered introduces a modern take to the original version with the new stunning visuals and refined gameplay. Players get to explore the vast landscape of Cyrodiil like never before as they try to stop the forces of Oblivion from overtaking the land. This version not only has the base game but includes the previously released story expansions Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine. It also has extra downloadable content included in the game.
Creating a Narrative
Players can forge their path and play the way they want as they navigate their own story. They can take on various roles from being a noble warrior to a sinister assassin to a wizened sorcerer. They can even choose to be a scrappy blacksmith.
Regardless, players can journey across the rich world of Tamriel and fight across the planes of Oblivion where handcrafted details have been meticulously recreated to ensure each moment of exploration is awe-inspiring.
The universe offers a lot for everyone like the captivating stories and there’s even an encounter with an unforgettable cast of characters.
New Visuals
As mentioned, the game is able to add stunning new visuals thanks to the use of the Unreal Engine 5. As a result players get to experience more detailed character models and stunning landscapes. The atmospheric effects have improved as well making the world of Cyrodiil feel more alive than ever.
Refined Gameplay
For those who were able to play the original version, they should be able to recognize everything they see. The thing is, the studio also knows that gamers nowadays have expectations especially "when it comes to an open world role-playing game."
For example, Sprinting was added so that the game meets modern RPG standards. All character locomotion and models have been completely redone from scratch. Meanwhile, combat animations have been fully recreated and add more flourish and separation between the upper and lower body. That's not all since combat also now includes sound effects, visual effects, and hit reactions. This should make it more engaging.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is now available on PC via Steam and consoles PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
