Survive a Brutal Alien World in Upcoming Colony Sim Ascent of Ashes

Boston-based video game publisher, Camlann Games, has announced its presence in the gaming industry with its focus on meaningful, fun, and highly replayable games. Its first game, Ascent of Ashes, a colony sim, will be released by the end of 2023. Developed by Vivid Storm Interactive, Ascent of Ashes will be presented at The MIX in Spring 2023.

Ascent of Ashes takes place in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world where players must manage survivors, engage with raiders, aliens, soldiers, and more in real-time-with-pause combat. With a focus on exploration, tight balance, and strategic gameplay, Ascent of Ashes will offer a unique experience built from the ground up.

Camlann Games CEO and Founder, Slava Heretz, expressed excitement about working with Vivid Storm Interactive, stating that they had been following the game from its debut on Kickstarter. As a fan of RimWorld, Heretz said it has been great to see such a positive response from the gaming community about Ascent of Ashes, even in these early stages.

Players must protect themselves from the dangerous, unknown beasts and creatures inhabiting the alien world, along with raiders and other environmental hazards. As they recruit survivors, each with their own motivations and personality, players must work together to create a new home on what would otherwise be an entirely inhospitable planet.

Ascent of Ashes features include building a new home, real-time-with-pause combat, driving restored vehicles, meeting diverse survivors, exploring a procedurally generated world, adapting to enemy attack patterns, and day one mod support. Players can wishlist the game on Steam now before its Q4 2023 release.
