It's been two years since Takara Cards was launched in Steam Early Access. That's all done now as GrabTheGames announced the full release of the game. What's even better is that it's currently being offered at 50% off until the end of the month.
While the game was in Early Access, it received multiple updates along with new content. There were also the bug fixes, balance and optimizations. The game also got localized into 14 additional languages. For the full version, there were minor improvements that include:
- Czech localization.
- Shortcut button for the manual in the Card Search store.
- Corrections for German.
- Balanced XP and Karma gain.
- Minor interface improvements.
- Minor bug fixes.
Fight the Dragons
Takara Cards is a roguelike deck-builder where players get to create a Cadet and search for the legendary Space Dragons who's said to have stolen from the Federation. They get to choose from four unlockable races which are the fearless Dwarves, the intuitive Humans, the mystical Orks, or the glamorous Elves.
Once that's done, they then build their deck as they explore the Cosmos. They also have to choose from a handful of Maneuver and Equipment cards which are earned in story events, level-ups, and stores. Players also unlock new races, and create new characters and strategies.
It's About Reputation
The game has players choose their starting reputation, which is as important as the choice of cards. Those who are fast learners for example can be a Proud Genius. Players who have business come easy for them is the Born Seller. While exciting, keep in mind Reputations aren’t permanent and are passive of change through events in the journey.
Players have to remember that they need to buy authorized equipment from the Guil. However, there are not-so-official ones being offered by the Pirates.
