The latest update for Len's Island is now live. Dubbed as "The Cursed Underworld," it invites players to take on cursed dungeons, a hardcore alternative to the usual regular challenges. These new dungeons feature elite adversaries and cunning traps but rewards those brave enough to conquer it with treasures.
With the new update, each dungeon in the can now be Cursed. With this happens, the dungeon is now a hardcore version and is totally different from the base level. Not only are there new enemies, obstacles, and traps, but they are now darker and even scarier. Of course, there's going to be epic loot and rare rewards. Players can look forward to the new cursed versions of the Void Boar and Void Troll boss fights, so be sure to prepare for that. Then there are the new achievements obtained for completing cursed bosses and beating all cursed dungeons.
Those able to survive the challenge get to equip themselves with the new customizable armor which has been endowed with special abilities. Even better, each piece of armor is interchangeable. In addition, it’s now possible to add enchantments to any weapon or tool, resulting in diverse combat strategies.
Cave Network
One thing to look forward to with this new update is the sprawling cave network. For starters, it doubles the size of Len's Island. By being procedurally generated, it means that the exploration experience for every playthrough is truly unique. There are subterranean realms which offer rich mining grounds. Meanwhile, the new pathways allow for exploration and connect the islands above.
Talking about this particular features, Flow Studio Founder Julian Ball revealed that their goal was to "amplify the dungeon crawling and survival mechanics: but making sure that the peaceful aspects that players love remain. He added that for each hardcore feature that they added, they made sure to have alternative paths for those who prefer calmer gameplay.
