Something big is happening in Elden Ring Nightreign. It seems that the "Everdark Sovereigns" are emerging from the depths of the night over the next few weeks. These are stronger and more challenging versions of the Nightlords.
What's going to happen is that each week, a Everdark Sovereign arrives in Limveld. Once an Everdark Sovereign appears, anyone who has defeated the original version of that Nightlord can face its Everdark Sovereign form. Once the time is up, the Sovereign then disappears from the available Expeditions. It's important to remember that this limited-time versions are extremely challenging and pose an even greater threat to the Nightfarers with new moves and increased power.
Anyway, those who can defeat the enhanced versions of the Nightlords before they return to the darkness can receive Sovereign Sigils as a reward. These are unique tokens which can be exchanged for special Relics and other items. Meanwhile, defeating an Everdark Sovereign for the first time grants additional Sovereign Sigils.
The first Everdark Sovereign, an enhanced version of Adel, is Baron of the Night (Gaping Jaw) and now available. The encounter is available from June 18 to June 25. The next two Everdark Sovereigns are Sentient Pest and Darkdrift Knight.
In a post, Bandai Namco Entertainment America revealed that other Everdark Sovereigns, like Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast and Fissure in the Fog, are going to be added to the game at a later date.
Elden Ring Nightreign features a multiplayer-focused return to Roundtable Hold. The game itself is set in a parallel universe to that in Elden Ring. It has players choose from a roster of eight unique characters with each one having their own unique abilities along with powerful ultimates.
Players go on a journey that takes them to Limveld. This is an ever-changing map where they have to make those split-second decisions especially when it comes to combat and exploration. They’ll also have to face a night cycle where the map shrinks with the coming Night’s Tide. Then at the end of each night players have to fight against a powerful boss and if they win, move on to face bigger challenges.
Each session ends on the third night when players must face off against the chosen Nightlord. While individuals have the choice to fight the night alone, there is always strength when it comes to numbers. To hurdle these challenges, they’ll need to cooperate and one way is to combine those unique abilities. Even if they fall, not everything is lost. That’s because unsuccessful runs give players relics which let them customize and upgrade their characters tailored to their personal play styles.
