In case you didn't know, developer Pixelated Milk has launched a playtest for SacriFire on Steam. It started last week but there's still time to be part of it since it's running until June 24. This playtest lets you get an initial experience of what the game has to offer.
In addition to one main story quest, you can also experience three side quests during the playtest. There are also two major locations available plus six smaller locations. Aside from the different enemies, you also have a chance to take on one boss. You'll also need to keep a close watch on a fun mini-game.
How to Join
For those interested to be part of the ongoing playtest, here are the steps needed:
- Go to the game's Steam Page.
- Scroll down until you see the Playtest section. It should be under the "Planned Released Date" box.
- Press the "Request Access" Button.
- Go to your Steam Library.
- Find the "SacriFire Playtest" app and Install it.
- Launch the game and enjoy the playtest.
The main reason for this playtest is to get feedback for the game. There are three ways to go about which is through a Survey, Forum Thread, or Discord Server.
Gods vs Demons
The game follows the story of Ezekiel Ridan. He’s a young priest that’s been struggling to maintain his faith while there’s an ongoing battle between gods and demons. He’s currently a soldier training for the elite sect of the Church of Sheol. As part of his job, Ezekiel has been tasked with protecting the underground city of Antioch from the demons. However, he later learns that this ongoing conflict is bigger than he could have imagined.
Get Excited
One of the main features of the game is the moral complexity. While the original story does respect the standard RPG tropes, there are also moments when the game subverts those same tropes. Indeed, you'll never know what's going to happen next.
The high-quality presentation is another reason to be excited about the game. The combination of pixel art and 3D graphics results in a retro-style graphics that have innovative digital effects wizardry. You'll be able to see just how the hand-drawn and animated characters are able to blend seamlessly with the 3D-modeled environments.
