Square Enix announced that Triangle Strategy is being released on a new platform. This turn-based tactical RPG is set to be available to Meta Quest beginning October 31. Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 players can pre-order the game and enjoy a limited-time 13% discount for a limited period.
For the Meta Quest version, the game is going to offer a complex and tactical battle system that's enhanced by the intuitive VR controls. This should allow for a truly immersive hands-on RPG experience. After all, it makes use of 360-degree 3D movement on the battlefield and place characters yourself in order to fine-tune combat strategy. It puts the fates of the characters literally in the hands of the players. As a result, playes get to experience a dramatic story of clashing kingdoms like never before.
Triangle Strategy also supports the Passthrough feature that's on Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S. It combines the environment of the game with real-world surroundings to create that next-level immersion.
Triangle Strategy was first released for console and PC back in 2022. It was developed by the same team that worked on Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler. This fan-favorite tactical RPG challenges players to decide on the fate of Glenbrook, Aesfrost and Hyzante. These three powerful kingdoms have long been embroiled in conflict. Players get to guide protagonist Serenoa Wolffort along with his faithful companions that include childhood friend Prince Roland, fiancée Princess Frederica Aesfrost and the steward of House Wolffort Benedict. They’ll be on a journey to navigate their way through this new conflict.
The game has some interesting features like having the different actions and choices made by the players build up to form their conviction based on three sets of values which are Utility, Morality, and Liberty. These values have an impact on the story and determines which allied units join the players.
Another interesting feature of the game is Voting. Important decisions in the game decide the fate of the main characters and his allies. In particular, this is done through a vote using the Scales of Conviction.
