Independent developer Sandfall Interactive announced that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is launching on April 24. This turn-based RPG is going to be available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
Aside from the reveal of the release date, the studio also shared some details of the game during the Xbox’s Developer Direct last week. During that event the studio discussed more about the emotional story of the game along with the art direction inspired by Belle Epoque France. They also talked about the innovative reactive turn-based combat gameplay which features traditional RPG mechanics and combines it with real-time defensive and offensive abilities.
New Characters
The studio also revealed the new characters that players get to encounter in their adventure. There's the friendly yet bloodthirsty Monoco, who's voiced by Rich Keeble. Monoco the Gestral joins the Expedition as a fully playable character. He brings his own unique playstyle to the fight by transforming himself into the enemies the party encounters and using their abilities against them. Then there's the larger-than-life Esquie, voiced by Maxence Cazorla. Players can befriend this unusual character and Esquie helps them learn more about the world.
