Fancy Fish Games announced that Aground Zero is ready to leave Early Access. Version 1.0 of this colony sim/base-building RPG is releasing for the PC on April 4. A console version is in the works with a launch scheduled at a later date.

Aground Zero is a 3D spinoff of Aground, released in 2020. While the upcoming game does take place during the events of the original game, knowledge of Aground is not necessary to play it. The game was made available in Steam Early Access last year and has received a lot of community driven updates with new features, new areas, and new content introduced. In particular, features added include:

  • Multiplayer (couch, local and online)
  • 2 story endings
  • Spaceships: 2 types to build, customize and fly
  • Dragons: Raise, evolve and fly them
  • Magic path: spellbooks, magic lab and more
  • Science path: auto-builder, fleet battle, and more
  • The Shattered Moon: moon base anyone?
  • Space stations & new planets to visit, explore, and build on

For the 1.0 launch, the game is going to be available in 7 languages, with French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Russian and Spanish translations alongside the original English.

Surviving Underground

In the game, the world has ended and players are now living deep underground. They're not alone though as they are accompanied by a rather cheerful AI. However, this personal AI has located other survivors that players can wake up and bring to their newly constructed base.

To reach the surface, players need to do more than survive. They'll have to:

  • Expand and automate the base.
  • Get help from familiar faces.
  • Avoid creatures that are definitely not native to Earth.
