The Void Shadows DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader was released early this month. However, that's not the only thing happening this month. That's because developer Owlcat Games is launching the Grim Darkness mode which offers players a new way to experience the game.
The Grim Darkness mode is for Lord Captains who aren't just the boldest but also the most experienced and more prepared. That's because players only get a single save as they try to complete the journey across the Koronus Expanse. Snice there are no second chances, players have no choice but to live with the consequences of their decisions and actions. This means that once their party or voidship has been defeated, the Grim Darkness journey ends.
The Grim Darkness Challenge
In celebration of this new mode, the studio is inviting streamers to join a competitive event and see who reigns supreme as the ultimate Rogue Trader. For the Grim Darkness Challenge, streamers get to compete live over a period of two weeks on Daring difficulty in Grim Darkness mode. There's only one winner so the last one standing gets a unique prize.

Twitch Drops Event
To make the competition even more exciting, the studio has prepared a special Twitch Drops event where viewers can get unique items from just watching an hour of stream. Drops include a pack of mind-twitching grenades, a helmet of tactical superiority, and a special servo skull. Read more about the event here.
