Combat Content for The First Descendant to be Expanded in 2026

Nexon unveiled the initial phase of its 2026 roadmap for The First Descendant. The focus is on expanding the combat content along with improving the overall farming loop. This should allow for the core fun of the game to be reinvented.

All of these are expected to be released in the first half of 2026. As a way of supporting the goals, the studio shared in a statement that they're rolling out new content updates monthly in addition to the ongoing adjustments. In particular, the plan seems to be to continue using Season 3 Episodes 3 and 4 as a way of focusing on reorganizing the game's core loop and reinforcing content and systems before Season 4.

New Content

Once January arrives, players can look forward to the Breach Tracking Field. This one is all about Gold farming content where players can obtain additional rewards like Superconductive Cooling Units. The Onslaught Mode is also planned to be introduced in the first half of 2026. This new end game content has players face increasingly stronger enemies as they progress across different difficulty stages. A beta version is planned to be launched at the same time as Episode 3. This is to refine core gameplay. The mode is to be officially released by May.

New Descendants are also in the pipeline. Dia is joining the roster in Episode 3 with Ultimate Esiemo arriving in Episode 4. The studio revealed that they plan to invest more resources into improving existing Descendants and Weapons to enhance game play.
