Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Now on PC via Steam

Square Enix announced that Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake has been officially released. It's available for PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch. The game is a reimagining of Dragon Quest III and introduces vibrant HD-2D graphics, new and modernized features, and even a refined narrative.

Indeed, the game makes use of the HD-2D style which it is able to feature those rendered and dynamic 3D backgrounds then combine it with the classic 2D pixel sprites. As a result, it retains the spirit of Dragon Quest III while at the same time allows the development team to have that creative chance in making the game not only more accessible but also more appealing. This is due to having more detailed lighting and shading effects, a more visually spectacular world to roam, and of course, beautifully rendered monsters.

This new title introduces various enhancements that improve the gameplay experience and result in making the overall experience feel like it's a more modern game. These include quality-of-life improvements, full English and Japanese voice acting, and auto-saves. Players can also look forward to a refined take on the classic turn-based battle system like the new animations, adjustable battle speeds, and an auto-battle setting, to name a few.

As players get to explore the vast world map, they'll notice an abundance of rich and captivating locations waiting for them to discover. Making the journey even more fun is the accompaniment o f an immersive soundtrack which is able to capture the timeless essence and magic of the Dragon Quest universe. The music is composed by Koichi Sugiyama and performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony.

By the way, the classic Dragon Quest III story that fans know and grown to love has been refined so that it ties in better with the events in Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, which is coming out next year.
