It hasn't been long since Witchfire was released in Early Access on Steam. That hasn't stopped developer The Astronauts from revealing what their plans are for the game. The highlight would be that the 1.0 release is scheduled to be released sometime in late 2025.

There's still some time before the full version comes out but there are some interesting changes coming. This month for example, the studio is releasing the Final updates and fixes for the game. Then in December there's an update to be released which is expected to add new areas to the game.

The next update is set to come out in early 2025 and this one not only introduces a new region, which is planned to be the biggest yet, but also a new enemy set. Then the final update before the full version is releasing in mid-2025. It's going to open up the final region with most of the features hopefully completed by then.

For now, here's what players can look forward to in Early Access:

  • Bossess - 2 Familiars; 1 Prophet
  • Enemies - 39 enemy types
  • Weapons - 16 different types of weapons
  • Magical Items - 19 items
  • Spells - 15 available

Time to Save the Future

In the Witchfire, players have to piece together a story from the past in order to save the future. They'll need to investigate ships that are crashing on the verge of the witch’s land and try to find the artifact which can tip the scales in the ongoing battle between the Church and the witches.

As they go on each expedition, players can obtain looted items or for those who are feeling confident, face the witch’s Familiar and get to unlock new areas along with getting powerful items and upgrades. To make sure that they succeed in the fight against the Witch of the Black Sea and her army, it's important to have skill and knowledge. For those who fail and die, they battlefield for that one-time chance to reclaim what was lost or maybe attack again but this time with a new plan.
