A new update is launching this week on Once Human and it's going to introduce an exciting new feature. It's called the temperature mechanic and is set to apply to all scenarios.
This temperature system comes with two main factors which are temperature and resistance. Temperature is affected by region, weather, time of day, environment, and certain items. Resistance on the other hand is determined by how much players can withstand extreme temperatures. Basically, the higher the resistance players have, the less likely they'll be affected by scorching or freezing environments.
Thermal Tower
Aside from this new mechanic, the update also adds a new Wonder known as the Thermal Tower. It's a huge structure which can change the temperature and environment over a large range and influences the course of the world.
A New Weather System
Players can also look forward to more weather types that come with different environmental effects. Extreme weather conditions should be good news to those looking for a more challenging survival experience. By the way, the changes in weather, temperature, and other environmental factors, are going to have a series of effects on Metas, enemy units, and buildings and facilities.
New Deviations
Other new content to be introduced in the upcoming update are the new Deviations. There’s a total of six and these are:
- Tar Pudding: Gathers fuel around the territory and increases fuel refining speed when assigned to a Refining Facility.
- ZapCam: Attaches to the back of the players and when in OTS or scoped mode, it locks onto a part of the enemy and deal damage.
- Hydronaut Fish: When activated, it gathers sea-water from outside the territory and occasionally yielding fish. It increases production speed when assigned to a Water Filter or Brewing Barrel.
- Invincible Sun: Deals Blaze DMG to a designated target.
- Snowsprite: Continuously generates Ice Crystals near the target. Ice Crystals shatter when shot, dealing Frost DMG to nearby targets.
- Ice Pot: Produces ice blocks with magical adhesiveness.
The new update also adds a new PvE Scenario known as The Way of Winter. There are also new events which you can read about here.
