These sectors are considered cleared when you kill Tyranthraxus.
You’re now in the final level of the game: the enemy castle. Go to the laundry at 2, accept the
disguise and leave the orcs alive. You can now travel across the castle nearly undisturbed. At 3
there is a Smithy with normal weapons. You can wait the night to steal them or kill him directly. Go
to the Bane chapel at 4 and eliminate all priests to loot their treasure. Do not touch anything on the
altar or you’ll sustain damage. Exit north to another section.
Visit each room and exterminate all enemy forces, including the guard at the post and the ones that
will follow him. Proceed east to another section and do the same.
Get the note at 9 (use “Search”), free the slaves at 11, take a look at the records room (12) and
eliminate the mages in the study at 13. Go south to the last section.
Eliminate all enemies like in the previous sections. At 16 you’ll find Cadorna chained to a wall.
Feel free to kill him but you can spare his life for some information. Go to the pool at 17 and dive
into it to retrieve a powerful item.
Return to the north-west section and approach the gates to the inner maze. Give the password
(“RHODIA”) to gain entrance.
You’re now in a strange maze. If you want you can try to pass through the walls of this maze but
there is a possibility to sustain lethal damage so the best way, even if the longest, is to follow the
path. Travel across the perimeter of this maze and empty each corner tower of its inhabitants then
proceed in the centre and enter the room at 18. Here you’ll find a man that claims to be
Tyranthraxus. It’s not your enemy but kill him anyway to get his powerful weapons. Exit and go to
the opposite section in a room like the previous one. Pass through the south illusionary walls and
climb the stairs.
You’re now at 19. If you want some experience points climb the stairs to the east and face a
powerful medusa otherwise cross the north illusionary wall and climb the stairs. You’re now very
close to your enemy. Go to 23 to kill an officer than approach the stairs at 24. Rest, heal and prepare
for the final battle. Climb the stairs.
You’ll be attacked by a group of very powerful high level fighters. Use all “Stinking Cloud” spells
that you can to block and kill them. When the battle is over choose to “Continue Combat” to heal
your characters with spells and potions. Close the combat and you’ll finally face Tyranthraxus. He’s
the most powerful foe of the game. Do not waste spells on him because most of them are ineffective
so concentrate your melee power on him. Your only hope is to end the battle quickly because his
strikes are deadly. When the battle is over you’ll find yourself back to Phlan so return to the
Council Clerk for your final reward.
Congratulations! You’ve finished Pool of Radiance.
